Issue/Introduction

Quarantine server has been configured on SPE. Threat file has been detected successfully by SPE. However, SPE failed to send the file to quarantine server with error reported under SPE report. From SPE report, the following error can be observed:

Symantec Protection Engine has failed to quarantine a file.

Cause

This is a known issue on SPE for Linux.

Files having size larger than the value configured under "Maximum file size stored within the in-memory file system" cannot be quarantined. The settings can be found under Configuration -> Resources.

Resolution

The issue has been fixed under SPE version 7.5.2. Upgrade to this version to resolve the issue.
