Issue/Introduction

You would like to integrate a Windows Event Viewer monitoring system with Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE).

Resolution

Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange includes a SCOM management pack with the installation binaries.  The Management pack and information on usage can be found within the extracted installation binaries under ADMTOOLS\Mgmt_Pack.

Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange does not provide direct integration for alternate Event monitoring solutions.  

The attached file (SMSMSE_EventID_List.xls) provides a listing of all EventId’s generated by Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE).  The list provides the EventID, Notification Level, Component category, and event data.  Please note that some events have variable information which may or may not be supported by third-party solutions.
