FEATURE REQUEST: Need option to select the Product Language and Keyboard Layout while configuring the Drive Encryption Client Software Package

Issue/Introduction

In Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11, the only supported languages for Drive Encryption are English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.

Based on the client's operating system's Region and Language settings, the user may use the language from the above mentioned supported languages.

One other option is to create a Product Language Key in the Windows Registry to set the language or use the command --set-language on the client via the command line. For Keyboard Layout, it has to be done using the command for the Keyboard as available in Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.

There is no option to select the Product Language and Keyboard Layout while configuring the Drive Encryption software package for the client machines.

Resolution

Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. This Feature Request is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version of the product. 

Technical Support filed a Feature Request to add this product feature. Note that a feature request is exactly that, a request. There is no committed date for this request from the Endpoint Encryption Product Management team, nor from the Endpoint Encryption Engineering team at this time.
