Issue/Introduction

After Upgrading SMP from 7.5 to 7.6, Unable to upgrade the Power Scheme Plug-in

Description:

Unable to upgrade the power scheme plugin on all the clients from 7.5 to 7.6.

Package is downloaded however the command line “'SLaunch32.exe /inifile:PSAgentInstall.ini  is incorrect as per the logs.

The command line in SMP 7.6 is changed to 'SLaunch.bat'.

Failed to launch SWD task 'Power Scheme Task Plug-in Install' with command line 'SLaunch32.exe /inifile:PSAgentInstall.ini': Failed to start SWD task: The system cannot find the file specified. (-2147024894)]

Cause

Command line changed in the new release.
The installation files are upgraded under C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\Power Scheme\Agent however the command line is not updated under the software package.
This issue is resolved in Next Major release.

Resolution

Edit the power scheme plugin software resource on SMP console from below location:
Manage --> Organizational Views and Groups then Organizational Views --> Default -->All Resources --> Software Component.

• Search the Altiris Power Scheme Task plug-in package and right click ActionsàEdit Software resource.
• Go to Package tab
• Edit the Command lines “Power Scheme Task Plug-in Install”.
• Change the command line from “SLaunch32.exe /inifile:PSAgentInstall.ini” to 'SLaunch.bat'

This issue is resolved in Next Major release.
