Issue/Introduction
Symantec Encryption Desktop does not detect Microsoft BitLocker encrypted drives. This means that it is possible to encrypt a drive that is already encrypted by BitLocker. This is likely to result in data loss.
Cause
In PGP Desktop 10.0, drives encrypted with BitLocker were successfully detected. However, this is no longer the case.
Resolution
Before encrypting a drive with Symantec Encryption Desktop, be sure to check that the drive is not already encrypted by BitLocker.
