Getting 'Desktop Experience' feature is enabled on this system while launching SIM 7.6x

Issue/Introduction

While launching Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) 7.6x the following message is displayed on Windows Server 2012:

'Desktop Experience' feature is enabled on this system. This feature is not supported on Symantec Installation Manager version 7.6x. Disable the 'Desktop Experience' feature using Server Manager then restart the system and launch Symantec Installation Manager.

Cause

SIM does not support 'Desktop Experience' feature on Windows Server 2012 R2. For better user experience, SIM will detect if this feature is enable on the machine and show the above message.

Resolution

Disable this feature:

1. Launch Server Manager
2. Under Manage menu, click on Remove Roles and Features
3. Within the Remove Roles and Features Wizard, select Features from the left hand menu
4. Within the Remove Roles and Features Wizard,  expand the option  User Interfaces and Infrastructure (Installed)
5. Deselect Desktop Experience
6. Click Remove(on the next dialog window)
7. Click Close (When complete) 
   Note: A restart will be required to complete removal

Note: in some cases you may need to uninstall as well "Ink and Handwriting Services" and "Media Foundation" features.
