Issue/Introduction

When a Virtual Disk is created, if you attempt to mount it by double clicking on the Virtual Disk file (.pgpd), it fails to mount.  This is also true if you attempt to double click a shortcut of the Virtual Disk file.

This applies to Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 MP7.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following release:
•     PGP Desktop 10.2 MP3

This version/Maintenance Pack is available for download via your account on Symantec File Connect;

https://fileconnect.symantec.com

As a work around you can still use the right click menu option; Symantec Encryption Desktop > Mount Disk.

Note: When you double click the .pgpd file, a new instance of pgptray.exe will be created and will stay open, effectively locking the file until the process is terminated.  This will give the following dialog error when attempting to mount using the right click option:

PGP Disk Mount failed because: "This PGP Disk is already opened with exclusive access by another user or application."

This can be terminated by going into Task Manager and using End Process on the extra pgptray.exe.  Once it has been terminated you can use the right click work around above.
