When the NS builds the snapshot for a package that has a file with *.map extension (e.g it will copy the file to “Install.aexns_map” in the staging folder the package is pointing to. It is supposed to then declare the two files in the snapshot.xml for the package.

When the package server agent downloads the package (previous versions such as version 7.5.3153) you would normally see the two renditions of the file. The renamed file “Install.aexns_map”, and the original file named back to

After applying 7.5 SP1 HF5 and updating the SMA and package server agent to 7.5.3300 apparently the PS agent downloads the renamed form of the .map file e.g: "Install.aexns_map" but fails to download the original .map file.

A defect caused by coding forward to future version where .map files will be treated like any other file type. They will no longer be renamed to prevent conflicts that used to be caused by the fact that it was a special file type in IIS.  But in this case the code to process it correctly is not in place.

A pointfix has been produced and released, and is attached to this article.

1. Log onto the SMP server using the service account (specified when installing SMP).

2. Extract the file to a desired folder on the SMP server.

3. Run PFInstaller.exe

4. Run the scheduled task "NS.Package Refresh.{bd6bf880-bfae-4dad-b746-e8be99f3b8a8}"

Applies To
