Issue/Introduction

On some HP machines using a custom HP Windows image, installing the Drive Encryption piece of Symantec Endpoint Encryption causes a BSOD with a 0x7b stop code after reboot.

Steps to re-create:

1. Change start up and recovery options under system failure, deselect automatically restart.

2. Install SEE 11 Management Agent x 64, restart.

3. Install SEE 11 Drive Encryption x 64, restart

4. As the Windows logo is displayed, the computer will then BSOD with the error code: "stop:0x0000007B"

Resolution

This issue has been resolved with the release of Symantec Endpoint Encryption version 11.0 MP3 (Build 8723).

Please upgrade the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management server to version 11.0 MP3 or above, then create new client installer packages and deploy to the affected client machines.
