Issue/Introduction

In any of the Targeted Agent Settings, under the Advanced, the SSL Certificate name is missing after import.

Steps to reproduce:

In Targeted Agent Settings, select the Advanced tab

  1. Check box to specify and alternate URL for the Symantec Management Agent to use to access the NS:
  2. Check Install SSL certificate on the Symantec Management Agent
  3. Click Import and select the certificate.pfx file.
  4. Click Save Changes.
  5. Navigate away from the page.
  6. Open the Target Agent Settings, Advance tab and the certificate name is missing.
    1. If you right click on the policy and View as XML, you will see the SSL Certificate is included with the policy and will install once enabled.

No errors noted in the SMP logs.

Cause

NA

Resolution

Although it is not listed the certificate is included in the policy and will install on the targeted agent.

Additionally if the server is on version 7.5 sp1 HF5 the attached fix (7.5_SP1_HF5_PF3714458.zip) can be applied that will allow the certificate to show.

HOW TO INSTALL THIS POINTFIX:

  1. Extract files from the archive to the NS hard drive. Make sure Point Fix is not extracted to Altiris install directory (or any subfolder to it).
  2. Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Select "Install Files".
  3. Accept UAC (User Account Control) if prompted, select Install Files. Old binaries will be automatically backuped to the Backup folder at the same location where PFinstaller is and replaced with the new ones. Log-file Log.txt will be created at the same location where PFinstaller is.
  4. Close PFInstaller window.

Applies To

 7.5 SP1 HF5

This has been seen in other 7.5 versions as well.
