Issue/Introduction

I am getting a series of IEW2556W messages when I want to apply RO96886.

Here are the error messages:

IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER 8 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.
IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER 9 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.
IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER 10 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.
IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER 11 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.
IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER 12 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.

Why do I have warning messages IEW2556W applying RO96886?

Environment

CA Common Services 14.1 - z/OS supported releases -

Resolution


You have to look at the ptf you are trying to apply and check the syntax.

This kind of error normally happens as a result of a corrupted APAR.

The transfer have to be done in BINARY and to a file with LRECL=80.

You may have to restore/reject, download again this apar and re-receive and apply it.
