Issue/Introduction

The customer reported that selecting and moving multiple policies between folders only moves 1 policy at the time rather than all the selected ones.

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Go to Manage->Policies
2. Expand Patch Management->Windows in the tree to the left.
3. Click on the "Windows" folder
4. Shift-Click multiple policies in the main panel.
5. Right click and select "Move".
6. The wizard will ask you to pick a folder to move all the policies you selected. It will even state the number of policies you have selected.
7. Pick a folder to move the items to.
8. Click OK

Only the first policy you selected will be moved to the new folder.

 

Cause

Known issue. Regression.

Resolution

This issue has been reported to the Symantec Development team. A permanent fix will be provided in a later release (current ETA SMP 7.6).

A pointfix is available for those customers with ITMS 7.5 SP1 HF5. Please see attached file "Pointfix_eTrack3669205_7_5_SP1_HF5.zip"

SMP 7.5 SP1 HF5

 

HOW TO INSTALL THIS POINTFIX:

  1. Extract files from the archive to the NS hard drive. Make sure Point Fix is not extracted to Altiris install directory (or any subfolder to it).

  2. Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Select "Install Files".

  3. Accept UAC (User Account Control) if prompted, select Install Files. Old binaries will be automatically backuped to the Backup folder at the same location where PFinstaller is and replaced with the new ones. Log-file Log.txt will be created at the same location where PFinstaller is.

  4. Close PFInstaller window.

  5. Close Internet Browser.

  6. Clear your internet browser cache or run/double-click on “clear-cache.bat” attached to this article.

  7. Open Internet Browser and try to move multiple policies again.

HOW TO UNINSTALL THIS POINTFIX:

  1. Make sure that Backup subfolder is located in PFinstaller directory
  2. Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Old binaries will be repaired from Backup folder located at the same location where PFinstaller is. NS services should be started automatically.
  3. Accept UAC (User Account Control) prompt, select Uninstall Files.
  4. Close PFInstaller window.

  2. Altiris.NS.Services.CoreServices.dll
  3. Altiris.NS.Silverlight.ActivityCenter.ServerBridge.all
