If Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control Manager Server is rebooted or Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control domain services is restarted, you see an error message in the Windows Event Viewer.

Description : The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID.

Description : The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID.
Need to add the service account that we used to run the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control domain services to Distributed DCOM permission for the following;
a. Local Launch
b. Remote Launch
c. Local Activation
d. Remote Activation
1. Go to the Run box and type "dcomcnfg". This will bring the "Component Service" window
2. Expand "Component Service" and expand "Computers"
3. Right click on "My Computer" and go to Propertise
4. On the "COM Security" tab, under "Launch and Activation Permission" click on "Edit Default"
5. Now the Default Security Permission for "Launch and Activation Permission" add the service account that is assosicated with SEDC domain services. Make sure it gets all for the above mentioned permissions.
