Issue/Introduction

End user can't access HTTPS site through SSL proxy component of Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) when there are more than 2000 users. It works fine with 300 users.

 

Cause

QA testing indicates that SWG is performing as designed.  The sizing guide makes assumptions about the number of users and the usage patterns of those users. Only if those assumptions hold will the sizing guide be applicable.

Resolution

Use as-is. Upgrade to the latest build of SWG appliance as a best practice. As Symantec identifies and repairs errors and undesirable behaviors within SWG appliance, the performance of SWG improves.
