This article provides solutions for troubleshooting the installation of Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server.
Problem
During installation, you receive an error message, Error 27502. Could not connect to Microsoft SQL Server ‘(servername)’.
Login failed for user ‘domain\username’. (18456)
Solution
Windows Authentication: You do not have an account in SQL Server. Create a login account in SQL Server for the user account and add the following privileges: public and sysadmin
Note: You can remove this account after installation. It is only required to create the database.
Problem

This error can occur due to choosing SQL Authentication on the Database Location and Credentials page during installation.
