Logging in to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) Web console in Google Chrome generates a warning that some of the content on the page is not secure.
The Site identity icon in Google Chrome is grey with a yellow triangle. Clicking on the icon displays the following message:
"Your connection to <SEPM> is encrypted with 128-bit encryption. However, this page includes other resources which are not secure. These resources can be viewed by others while in transit, and can be modified by an attacker to change the look of the page.".
This warning is generated when browsing to a Web site that is hosted over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) connection when some of the content on the Web page is actually hosted over an unencrypted HTTP connection.
The Home page of the SEPM Web console is hosted over HTTPS, but contains embedded information from the Symantec Security Response Web page, which is hosted over HTTP.
If this warning is causing functionality of the SEPM Reporting console to fail, connect to the SEPM Web console using an alternate browser such as Internet Explorer, or connect directly to the SEPM Reporting console at https://<SEPM>:8445/reporting.
