Issue/Introduction

After you install or upgrade to Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1.6 or 12.1.5, you run ClientRemote.exe from Tools\PushDeploymentWizard. When you do, you see an error that indicates that LIBEAY32.dll is missing from your computer.
 

The program can't start because LIBEAY32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
 

Cause

This issue occurs due to a missing file on the installation disk.

  • For 12.1.6, it is the Full Installation file.
  • For 12.1.5, it is the Part 2 Tools file.
     

Resolution

To work around this issue, copy the required DLL to the PushDeploymentWizard folder.

  1. Navigate to %SEPM Installation Folder%\tomcat\bin.
    Where %SEPM Installation Folder% represents the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) installation folder. The default path for 64-bit computers is C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.
  2. Copy LIBEAY32.dll to Tools\PushDeploymentWizard.
  3. Double-click ClientRemote.exe to successfully launch the Push Deployment Wizard.
