Issue/Introduction

All of the targeted devices within a device policy are showing non-complaint with the message "Device does not meet Email Access compliance." Device does not meet Email Access compliance.

Cause

One known reason this may happen to 100% of the targeted devices is because the Compliance Rules are used in the device policy, and the compliance rule enforces the following action: "Block access to email". Block access to email in intended to be used when the device policy applies the "Access via Email Proxy" setting. If no "Access via Email Proxy" is used in the device policy, the targeted devices will report as non-compliant.

Resolution

The easiest fix to this is to simply apply either an "Access via Email Proxy" setting, or to remove the enforcement of "Block access to email" from the Compliance Rule used in the Device Policy.
