Issue/Introduction

There is an issue when you have both Symantec File Share Encryption and Symantec Endpoint Encryption Removable Media Encryption functionality installed on the same computer. When you right-click a file or folder that is located on the local disk of a VMware ESXi virtual computer, no options are displayed for Symantec File Share Encryption.

Resolution

To use Symantec File Share Encryption installed on a VMware ESXi system where Endpoint Encryption with Removable Media Encryption functionality is installed, first disable the HotAdd/HotPlug capability. For information about disabling the HotAdd/HotPlug capability, refer to the VMware ESXi documentation or knowledge base.
