Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Encryption Full Disk Manager console does not use the local server time zone for encryption start and end times.

Cause

Symantec Endpoint Encryption Full Disk Manager console was designed to use UTC for encryption start and end times.  This ensures more accuracy for policy administrators validating hard drive encryption times across various time zones.

Resolution

Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.  This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version or Maintenance Pack of the product.  Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here.

Symantec Endpoint Encryption Manager Console will continue to use UTC / GMT time zone to report encryption start and end times.  An enhancement request has been submitted to mention the time zone used in the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Manager console as well as the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Policy Administrator guide.
