Issue/Introduction

Can a Control Compliance Suite (CCS) console in an untrusted domain  connect to the CCS Application server ?

Resolution

The security model of the product prevents the use of the console on a system outside the domain trust. Any system hosting the CCS Console must be a member of the same domain hosting the CCS Application Server or a member of a trusted domain. A CCS Console installed on any non-trusted domain or work group computer cannot connect to the Application Server service. The product requires users connecting to the Application Server to have both a user account within the domain trust boundary and be logged in on a computer that is part of the same trusted environment. Additionally, only users within the domain trust boundary may be assigned CCS roles or permissions for managing and viewing assets and data.
