Drilldown for "Merge assets with duplicate Serial Numbers" report is always showing results for first resource in the list

Issue/Introduction

Location of the Report:

Reports -> All Reports -> Service and Asset Management -> Merge -> Merge assets with duplicate Serial Numbers

Purpose of report:

To list all Assets that have the same Serial Numbers and allow such duplicates to be merged

Actual behavior of report:

  1. Double click on first row from the top is correctly showing computers and Serial numbers, offering to merge them.
  2. Double click on second row will show same results as were for first row.
  3. No matter how many results will be in your list you will always get results for first row.
  4. Even if change first row, e.g. by sorting via any column, then the results for first row will appear for any row lower.

No error in logs

Environment

Asset Management Solution 7.5 (all hotfixes) and 7.5 SP1.

Resolution

Development prepared pointfix for this issue. It may be applied over Asset 7.5 SP1 with or without any hotfix.

How to install this pointfix:

  1. Extract files from the archive to the NS hard drive. Make sure Point Fix is not extracted to Altiris install directory (or any subfolder to it).
  2. Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Select "Install Files".
  3. Accept UAC (User Account Control) if prompted, select Install Files. Old binaries will be automatically backuped to the Backup folder at the same location where PFinstaller is and replaced with the new ones. Log-file Log.txt will be created at the same location where PFinstaller is.
  4. Close PFInstaller window.

How to uninstall this pointfix:

  1. Make sure that Backup subfolder is located in PFinstaller directory
  2. Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Old binaries will be repaired from Backup folder located at the same location where PFinstaller is. NS services should be started automatically.
  3. Accept UAC (User Account Control) prompt, select Uninstall Files.
  4. Close PFInstaller window.
