Issue/Introduction

The default settings for the Vontu services define how much memory these Java processes are allocated at startup, along with the maximum memory allowed for each service.

Environment

Starting with DLP v12.0 64bit servers are now required, thus these settings changed from prior versions to accommodate larger tunings that are possible.

Resolution

The following are the defaults for Java Heap Size for each Vontu Service name.

The settings are found in /SymantecDLP/Protect/config

VontuMonitorController.conf

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.initmemory = 128

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 5120

VontuManager.conf

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.initmemory = 1378

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 5120

VontuIncidentPersister.conf

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.initmemory = 512

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 5120

VontuNotifier.conf

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.initmemory = 128

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 512

VontuUpdate.conf

# Java Additional Parameters - jdb debugging

# wrapper.java.additional.101 = -Xdebug

# wrapper.java.additional.102 = -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=5008,server=y,suspend=n

wrapper.java.initmemory = 128

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 512

VontuMonitor.conf

# Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.initmemory = 128

wrapper.java.maxmemory = 512
