Issue/Introduction

The File Reader process automatically restarts every 15 minutes (due to a File Reader Timeout) if the heartbeat is not detected.

Resolution

To resolve the issue of the File Reader process automatically restarting, the Discover Server default value for restarting the server must be increased to accommodate large files.

To change the Discover Server restart settings:

  1. From the Administration Tab, click Overview.
  2. Under System Overview, select Affected Discover Server.
  3. In the Server Detail window, select the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll down to the FileReader.MaxReadGap and change the default value of 15 to 45 minutes.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the Server Detail window, click [recycle]. This restarts the Discover Server and reads the new settings.
