Issue/Introduction

Client Automation allows you to create Policies at the Enterprise Server and have them replicated down to all Domain Managers.

How are Policies distributed down from the Enterprise ?

Resolution

There are three types of Policies:

 

Event Based Policies: These are Policies based on Events

          For Example:    Last Update of Asset Jobs, Signature Files, or Collect Jobs

Event Policies are AM Policies and get replicated thru the Download Replication Job

Missing Policy at DM:  Was the Policy sealed ? Is Download Replication running at the DM ?

 

Query Based Policies: These Policies are based on DSM Queries

          For Example:   Queries based Hardware changes, Job Status, or Software Inventory changes

Query Policies are AM Policies and get replicated thru the Download Replication Job

Missing Policy at DM:  Was the Policy sealed ? Is Download Replication running at the DM ?

 

Software Based Policies:

          For Example:    Send a SD package to a group to upgrade Agents or a specific Software 

These Policies are SD Based and get Distributes thru Software Deployment

Missing Policy at DM:   Was the Policy sealed? Did the job complete downloading at the EM in Jobs > Software Distributions
