Attempting to upload MS Excel file types .xls or.xlt as the Data Source file in an Exact Data Profile fails

Issue/Introduction

You are creating a new Exact Data Profile (EDM) and are attempting to upload MS Excel file types .xls or.xlt as the Data Source file but the Enforce UI gives an error after clicking next and fails to upload the files.

Resolution

This is working by design as the Enforce Server does not recognize the Excel binary format.

You must first convert the data into a flat tabular file such as a .csv with the comma delimiter.
