How can I test that the credentials supplied for the file shares in a Discover file system target are valid and that I have connectivity to the file shares?

To test that the credentials supplied for file system scans are valid, set the Exclude Filter to the wildcard "*" which will exclude all files for the scan.

Then run the scan.

Network Discover attempts to mount all the file shares specified in the file system target, even though none of the file shares are actually scanned.

See Knowledge Base article 42119 for more information about troubleshooting authentication errors.
