Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to DLP v11, the Monitor Controller service fails to start on the Linux (or Windows) Enforce server with the following error in MonitorController0.log:

WARNING: The Derby database directory does not contain a valid database. The database will now be deleted and recreated.
com.vontu.itemcatalog.api.ItemCatalogException: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to create database '/var/Vontu/scan/incremental_index/MONITOR_CONTROLLER/INCREMENTAL_INFO', see the next exception for details.
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to create database '/var/Vontu/scan/incremental_index/MONITOR_CONTROLLER/INCREMENTAL_INFO', see the next exception for details.

The same can happen in Windows as well.

Resolution

1. Ensure the directory "/var/Vontu" has plenty of available drive space.

2. Ensure the directory "/var/Vontu" is owned by the "protect" user.
