How to check the Tomcat version that Service Catalog is using?

Issue/Introduction

Service Catalog uses the Tomcat web server.  

When installing Service Catalog , the Service Catalog installer will use the Tomcat version that is shipped with the product . 

Customers can download an updated version of Tomcat and then use the Service Catalog "ant upgrade-tomcat" command to have Service Catalog and use the updated Tomcat version.

How to check the Tomcat version that Service Catalog is using?

Service Catalog 12.9, 14.1 and 17.x

Resolution

To check the Tomcat version that Service Catalog is using: 

1.  Suppose the URL to access the Service Catalog GUI is http://[EXAMPLE CATALOG SERVER]:<port#>/usm/wpf 

2.  If you purposely modify this URL to be incorrect, like http://[EXAMPLE CATALOG SERVER]:<port#>/usm_abc you will receive a HTTP 404 error.  At the same time, the Tomcat version that Service Catalog is using will be shown at the bottom of the HTTP 404 error.  See the screenshot below :
