Issue/Introduction

During a upgrade you receive the following error message:

Could not complete the upgrade

An error has occurred:

A file was locked or incorrectly permissioned. Click "Log Files" below, and see inaccessible_files.log for specific files.

Resolution

SOLUTION 1:

Restart the server and attempt the upgrade again.

SOLUTION 2:

Examine the Log Files and check the inaccessible_files.log

If you find D:\Vontu\Protect\lib\native\msvcr71.dll within inaccessible_files.log you can simply move this file to another system and try the upgrade again. This particular file is not required for DLP.

You cannot rename it in place.  It MUST be moved off the server.

Additionally you will need to move msvcr71.dll off of ALL detection servers.

NOTE: if there is any other file listed, do NOT delete it, contact Technical support for additional assistance.

SOLUTION 3:

If a digit string is getting appended to the original folder name, create a new folder with the original name and move the contents over to the new folder. Restart the server and try again.

logs\enforce\installation.log  will also have the following error

[ERROR] com.vontu.updater.vontu8.FilePermissionChecker: File "D:\Vontu\Protect\lib\native\msvcr71.dll" is inaccessible.: java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\Vontu\Protect\lib\native\msvcr71.dll (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)
