How to apply a local server hotfix on Windows

Issue/Introduction

You have a heterogeneous environment and the Enforce server is on Linux. You can upgrade all the Linux boxes via the UI, but you have to do the Windows boxes manually.

        or

A Windows server failed to upgrade.

Resolution

The following example will walk you through a local server hotfix installation:

Example: Hotfix-8.1.7.2_1 
=====================================================================
1. In a temp folder outside of the Vontu tree

1.1 unzip Hotfix_8.1.7.2_1_Windows.zip
1.2 unzip Hotfix_8.1.7.2_windows.jar
    you should see something like :
C:\CAM\TEMP\delete\Hotfix_8.1.7.2_1_Windows\Hotfix_8.1.7.2_windows>ls
    DetectionUpgradePackage          introductionMessage.html
    DetectionUpgradePackage.jar      patchPackage.properties
    EnforceUpgradeInstaller.exe      start_upgrade_wizard.bat
    Hotfix_8.1.7.2_eula_1.0.txt      updateFramework_windows_1_0.exe
    META-INF                         uploadPatch.properties

2. Create a folder called <ID>_Upgrade  under \Vontu\Protect\Updates
example: \Vontu\Protect\Updates\8.1.7.2_1_Upgrade

3. Copy DetectionUpgradePackage.jar  to \Vontu\Protect\Updates\8.1.7.2_1_Upgrade

4. Unzip \Vontu\Protect\Updates\8.1.7.2_1_Upgrade\DetectionUpgradePackage.jar 

    You should see :
    DetectionUpgradeInstaller.exe  deploy_update.bat
    META-INF                       start_local_upgrade.bat   

4. Copy these files:
    DetectionUpgradeInstaller.exe  deploy_update.bat
    META-INF                       start_local_upgrade.bat

    to \Vontu\Protect\Updates\8.1.7.2_1_Upgrade

5. cd Vontu\Protect\Updates\8.1.7.2_1_Upgrade

6. Run start_local_upgrade.bat
