Cannot install the Oracle client on Linux 5.3

Issue/Introduction

During the install of the Oracle client software on a Linux 5.3 machine for Enforce I am getting the following error.

$ ./runInstaller
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

Resolution

On Linux 5.3 systems check and verify that the following RPMs are installed on the system.

  • libXau-devel-1.0.1-3.1.i386.rpm
  •  libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm
  • libXp-devel-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm
