Issue/Introduction

Email Endpoint Block Policy does not show a pop-up block when sending emails, and allows email to leave without blocking.

When analyzing the edpa logs  we will see the following error:

     "Line 83800: 11/02/2012 09:40:00 | 10884 | INFO | otlkplginst | Repair: failure Error=6"

Resolution

Explanation of the error :- Line 83800: 11/02/2012 09:40:00 | 10884 | INFO | otlkplginst | Repair: failure Error=6
If the DLP agent software is unable to repair the outlook plugin " otlkplginst " you will need to reinstall or upgrade the DLP Endpoint agent.

Answer: Uninstall the DLP agent software and reinstall it Run the AgentInstaller.msi manually to repair the agent installation should fix the issue, after which the  Endpoint Block Policy should work successfully (i.e. the agent displays the pop-up block and blocks the confidential email.)

Uninstall the agent fully, create a new agent package, and deploy it manually to the system.  This will reinstall the DLP agent along with the Outlook plugin.
If the MSI fails to reinstall successfully the agent and its components, including plug-ins, investigate the cause of the failure of the MSI installation package.
