Running the WorkPoint CheckID Utility from Outside the UI - Identity Governance

Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to execute the WorkPoint CheckID functionality via a standalone utility for environments where the Identity Governance UI is inaccessible.

Environment

Identity Governance 14.5

Cause

Direct access to the Identity Governance UI may be restricted for certain users or network segments. The CheckID functionality can be invoked directly through the WorkPoint Designer utility to perform database analysis and validation.

Resolution

1. Navigate to the following directory on the server: [CA_IG_HOME]\RCM\Server\eurekify-jboss\Workpoint\WorkPointDesigner\bin
2. Execute the IDCheck.bat file.
3. Upon initialization, the WorkPoint utility GUI will launch.
4. Configure the connection parameters as follows:
   • Database Platform: SQL Server
   • Connection Type: JDBC
   • JDBC Class: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
   • JDBC URL: jdbc:sqlserver://[localhost]:[port];DatabaseName=[Your_WPDS_Database_Name]
   • Database UserID: [Your_Database_User]
   • Database Password: [Your_Database_Password]
5. Click Analyze to begin the validation.
6. Review the results displayed in the status window (e.g., "There are no entries that currently need to be fixed").
7. Run the Workpoint Checkup if further validation is required.

Note: Replace all bracketed parameters with your specific environment values.
