Issue/Introduction

After installing SMP 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v9, the customer started to receive several reports from IT administrators that they receive an error message when adding resources to a Filter and the changes are not saved. The error states, "An error has occurred. Please try the page and performing the action again".

We were not able to duplicate the issue in Rollup v3 and v8. However, after installing just the SMP part of Rollup v9, we got the same problem.

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Go to Manage>Filters
2. Either create, clone or modify a current Filter
3. Click 'Edit'
4. Under the 'Explicit Inclusions and Exclusions' section, click to add a resource to the filter.
5. In the 'Selected resource' dialog, add a resource. Click OK.
6. The popup message "An error has occurred. Please try the page and performing the action again" appears.


Note: If you go back to the 'Selected resource' dialog you will see that the resource that you tried to add is actually under the Selected Resources
portion. If you click OK then it is added just fine.

No errors or messages in the NS logs were noticed.

Cause

Known issue. Premature global variable initialization.

Resolution

Fixed as of  ITMS 7.5 SP1 and ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v10 (HOWTO81832).

 

A pointfix is available for those that are in ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v9. See the attached "Pointfix_eTrack3490761_7.1_SP2_MP1.1_v9.zip"
