Getting error message on Core setting 'SecurityPermissionCacheSize'

 The following error message was noticed on the NS logs:

Core setting 'SecurityPermissionCacheSize' does not exist for shared cache. Proceeding with default value: 1000

ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v9 or Later.


 Unsufficient space allocated on the shared cache.


In most cases you need to increase the default value.

1. Open NSConfigurator.exe (usually under ..\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\Tools) and search for "SecurityPermissionCacheSize".
2. If you can't find it using the NSConfigurator, look under c:\programdata\symantec\smp\settings, there is a file called CoreSettings.config and check if it is there.
3. According to the log, it has a default value of 1000. Increase it by increments of 1000 (up to 5000). This change to apply will require that you restart the "Altiris Service" service.
4. Check if the error has stopped in repeating.
