How to move an IT Asset Manager Data Importer job from one environment to another?

Issue/Introduction

How to backup an IT Asset Manager Data Importer job from one environment and move it to another environment?

Environment

CA IT Asset Manager - all versions

Resolution

1. Login to the CA IT Asset Manager UI as an Administrator user

2.  Navigate to the Administration tab -> Environment Promotion

3.  Click Go to display the Object Types that can be promoted. Check the box next to Data Importer Definitions.

4.  Click the Export button to export the Data Import jobs.

5.  Refer to the following documentation for steps to import the exported data to the new environment. 

How to Promote Configurations and Content from the Source to the Target Systems

NOTE:  Both the source and target CA IT Asset Manager environments must be at the same version and patch level.
