Issue/Introduction

The option to create 1024-bit certificate signing requests has been removed from the Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) user interface.

Resolution

The default key length for self-signed certificates has been changed from 1024 bits to 2048 bits. TLS certificates with a key length of 1024 bits are no longer considered secure. Symantec Messaging Gateway now offers 2048- and 4096-bit keys.
