Every time we try to log on to the SCSP Management Console, it asks for the server information and it does not retain the previously added information
SCSP / DCS:S / DCS:SA writes the "Server:" information to the following file
SCSP: <Install Dir>\Symantec\Critical System Protection\Console\managers.ini
DCS:S: <Install Dir>\Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Console\managers.ini
DCS:SA: <Install Dir>\Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Console\managers.ini
-This "managers.ini" was not present in customers environment.
-Ran process monitor to check what was happening when we enters the server information on the management console.
-In process monitor found that we were getting ACCESS DENIED while trying to create "managers.ini" file in "\Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Console\"
-He was a system admin and had all the writes on the console folder.
-But we were unable to create a file in the console folder manually as well, we do not get an option to create a file after right clicking in the folder.
-Told him that this seems to be some group policy related issue.
This is a Permissions issue, user does not have permission to create new file in the specified location.
Create a file manually named "managers.ini", and move the same into the "\Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Console\" folder.
Logon to the Management Console, add the manager server information by clicking on the (+) sign, and close the console.
Again try logging on to the Management Console, and you should be able to see the server information already populated.
