How to change community string in SNMP traps sent by harvester.

CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)


Harvester will send threshold "Alerts" to other tools like Spectrum or UIM for further processing. It will use default "public" community in the trap.

Client may be interested in changing this for security reasons.

How do I change default community string of public in the traps sent by Harvester.


NFA 9.3.x


Take RDP to Harvester machine.

Run the below command from command prompt of harvester machine: 


mysql -P3308 harvester -t -e "update extended_parameters_values set value='New_Community_String' where value='public'"


Restart harvester services once you run the command.
