This is list of resolved issues in Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.1.

  • Resolved an issue where the failure of Internet Explorer 8 to properly handle Proxy Auto Configuration (.pac) files was causing Symantec Encryption Desktop modules (for example, PGP Tray) to crash when communicating with key servers or Symantec Encryption Management Server(s). [3060543]
  • Resolved an interoperability and file corruption issue between Symantec Endpoint Encryption Removable Storage, Symantec Encryption Desktop, and Windows Disk Defragmenter. [3070395]
  • This release supports the installation of Symantec Drive Encryption for Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 5.9 (32-bit and 64-bit versions). [3073862]

Installation/Upgrade

  • Resolved an issue where a Lenovo system, encrypted using an older version of PGP Desktop (prior to Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.2.x), would encounter initialization errors when being upgraded, if the latest BIOS version had been installed first. [3059450]
  • New installations of Symantec Encryption Desktop now replace any existing machine-uuid information in /Users/[userprofile]/Shared/PGP with correct new values. [3195012]

PGP Messaging

  • Resolved an issue where attachments to plain text emails were being stripped from the email when forwarded to Microsoft Outlook from external devices such as printers. [3059445]
  • Resolved an issue where users with a very large number of email accounts experienced screen drawing issues and system lockups. Now, when the number of accounts reaches 100, warnings begin to appear that the user has exceeded the maximum number of supported accounts and to delete unused accounts. [3070351]
  • Resolved an issue where Symantec Encryption Desktop issues an error and fails to decrypt certain S/MIME messages that lack signedAttributes. [3070363]

Symantec Drive Encryption

  • Updated the documentation to state that keys with spaces in the user name cannot be used for authentication at PGP BootGuard. [2611446]
  • Resolved the issue with PGP Whole Disk Encryption Command Line where, if the “--secure” command was used, without providing a username, the disk was encrypted with a blank username. Then, PGP Bootguard did not accept the local user name for authentication. If the command was run with the “--interactive” option, the user was prompted only for the passphrase and not the username. A username is now a required parameter for this command. [2688280]
