Lenovo RapidBoot Shield causes Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client to fail to install correctly. The install appears to succeed, but post reboot the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client is not properly installed and/or functioning.
After install and post reboot, check if the following files are present:
C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Current Version\Data\Install\Logs\roru.log and/or roru-immediate.log
C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Current Version\Data\Install\Scripts\{<GUID>}.rus and/or {<GUID>}_Completed.rus
If the files are missing, and Lenovo RapidBoot Shield is installed, the cause of the client install failure is a conflict between RapidBoot Shield and the Symantec Replace on Reboot Updater (RORU).
Uninstall Lenovo RapidBoot Shield, reboot, then install or migrate the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client. If you already experienced an install failure, please uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client first.
Note: RapidBoot Shield has been withdrawn and is no longer available for download from Lenovo.
