LUAdmin stopped downloading LU packages at 99% and download fails.bye

LUAdmin Event log shows download failed at 99%, if you look at troubleshooting logs gathered by LUAdmin you will see an error similar to this:

LuaException [UserMessage[

Nested Exception is:
[ org.springframework.dao.DataIntegrityViolationException ] Hibernate operation: could not insert: []; SQL [insert into ProductUpdateDetails (ProductUpdate_id, clientType, testState, ContentPackage_id, actionItem, catalogFilePathName, clientVersion, localizableContent, downloaded, triEntryExist, moreInfoUrl, entryId, created_ts, updated_ts, deleted) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)]; ERROR: value too long for type character varying(400); nested exception is org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: value too long for type character varying(400)

When trying to commit details into "productupdatedetails" table, the string that is supposed to be put into the "actionitem" column of a greater size than the allotted size for that column.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open a command window and navigate to “pgsql/bin” directory within LUA install directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\pgsql\bin)
  2. Type “psql -p 7072 -U lua lua” and hit Enter key. This will log you into database.  You will see lua=# at the prompt if this is successful.
  3. Type “ALTER TABLE productupdatedetails ALTER COLUMN actionitem TYPE character varying(700);” and hit Enter key. This will increase the column size.

With above steps the problem will be resolved and downloads will be successful.
