Encountered an NTFS volume with a Logfile that has not been flushed. (536)

Environment

GSS 3.x

Windows UEFI operating system.

Cause

Windows Desktop OS provides a feature called  'Fast Startup'. When selected this feature leaves the system in a  partially hibernated state. This will leave the drive unmounted. This means that the drive is in use. Since the drive is not unmounted properly this will set the 'dirty bit' hence an "inconsistent NTFS partition" error will occur.

Resolution

There are two workarounds for this problems:

1. Turn off the 'fast startup' option. This is present in "Control Panel->Hardware and Sounds->Power Options->System Settings->Shutdown settings'.
2. Run the Ghost64.exe binary with –NTIC and -NTIL switches which will block these warnings.
