The client just did a new Install of CA DADS Plus for CICS r 4.0 and put on all outstanding GA fixes. Is a CICS recycle necessary ?

Issue/Introduction

The clients SMP/E environment was corrupt. So the client had to do a new Install of CA DADS Plus for CICS r 4.0 and put on all outstanding GA fixes. Is a CICS recycle necessary when implementing the new maintenance?

Resolution

We recommend a recycle of CICS when new maintenance is introduced. In this case since the client did a new install and applied seven years of  CA DADS Plus maintenance. Some of the CA DADS Plus programs are executed at PTLPI time. A CICS recycle will execute refresh the new versions of these modules.
