SMTP status: "554 5.7.1 This message has been blocked because it contains a banned word"

Issue/Introduction

Messaging Gateway is attempting to delivery email to one or more domains but messages are being rejected with the following error:

554 5.7.1 This message has been blocked because it contains a banned word

Cause

The destination mail server or some other intermediate network device is rejecting the message due to content filtering policies configured in their environment.

Resolution

The most common cause of this problem is a network device (such as a firewall between the SMG and Internet) performing filtering operations on network communications out and in the network.

In order to resolve the problem, please check the firewalls configuration and ensure there are no active filters on SMTP communications.
