Mobile Management

Issue/Introduction

The Symantec Mobile Management 7.2 SP 2.1 and older is not compatible with iOS 7, due to Apple’s changes in app access to UDID and MAC addresses.  Symantec recommends updating Symantec Mobile Management version 7.2 SP 2.1 with this iOS 7 point fix.  This point fix addresses these issues to enable compatibility with iOS 7.

SMM 7.2 SP1 and earlier version customers will need to upgrade to SMM 7.2 SP 2.1 first, and then apply this iOS 7 point fix.  This point-fix can be applied to Symantec Mobile Management 7.2 SP 2.1 for SMP only.

An iOS 7 - compatible SMM agent is now available for compile. The Apple App Store build will be available very soon.  This new device agent is also required on all iOS 7 devices before they can be managed in conjunction with this point-fix.  The in-house version of this agent is available through the MDM Agent Builder application.  Please see www.symantec.com/docs/TECH210048

Resolution

During application of this point-fix, the following list of filters will be updated to include the iOS 7 device type:
