SEE Clients Checked in with SEE Manager but seen as "Unassigned" in the Computer status report in SEE Manager Console.

Issue/Introduction

After Installing SEE Management Server, installed the Client Package on the client machines but in the Computer Status report the machines are showing as "Unassigned".

The Computers are not seen in the SEE Users and Computers Forest nor in the Unassigned Group.

 

Following error message is observed when restarting the SEE Active Directory Sync Service. 

Cause

After restarting the Server got the following error in the SEEMS Configration Manager :

Windows Server 2012 Standard (x64-64bit).

Resolution

  1. Open Registry by typing 'Regedit' in the Run Command option.
  2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control.
  3. In Control, in the right pane of Registry Editor, right click and choose 'New' then 'DWORD'.
  4. Type ServicesPipeTimeout to replace New Value #1.
  5. Right-click the ServicesPipeTimeout registry entry and then click Modify.The Edit DWORD Value dialog box will appear.
  6. In the Value data text box, type 10000. Click OK. Close the Registry.
  7. Reboot the SEE Server.
  8. Check the Directory Sync Service Status in the SEE configuration manager.  If the Sync Service still shows as "Not Installed", perform steps 9-11.
  9. Take a backup of the SEE database.
  10. Keeping the existing database, uninstall and reinstall the SEE Management Server. 
  11. The clients should start showing in SEE Users and Computers under the correct forest and the Sync Service state should show as "Running".
