Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Firewall feature does not function with Citrix Provisioning Server.

The following events occur:

  • During creating an image with Imaging Wizard, an error occurs and it fails.
  • The tray icon of the Target Device on the client shows red X mark and the status of the Target device can not be active.
  • SEP Firewall does not work correctly as set, although SEP client UI indicates that SEP Firewall is active.

 

Environment

  • Provisioning Server 6.0 / 6.1
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 & 14.0 
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE) 12.1

Resolution

This is a known problem when SEP Network Threat Protection Firewall is installed.

Workaround

  1. Install SEP without Network Threat Protection Firewall feature
