After installing and loading the Symantec Secure Email app, the following message occurs, and the app is unuseable:

This behavior is by-design, as the Secure Email app requires a configuration to be received from a Symantec App Center server.
In order for Secure Email to be functional, perform the following steps:
Once loaded, the Secure Email app will prompt the user for credentials. Once the credentials are entered and validated, Secure Email will be configured
A device notification will occur stating App Center, Email Setup Required. This notification will be listed in the device's Notifications bar, and must be selected in order to proceed. Once the notification is selected, the Secure Email app will prompt the user for credentials. Once the credentials are entered and validated, Secure Email will be configured
